Complaints Commissioner 99. (1) The Complaints Commissioner shall be appointed by the Governor, acting after consultation with the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition, by instrument under the public seal. (3) The office of Complaints Commissioner shall become vacant— (a) at the expiration of the period specified in the instrument by which he or she was appointed; (b) if he or she resigns his or her office by writing under his or her hand addressed to the Governor; (c) if he or she becomes a member of the House of Assembly or the holder of any office in any political party; or (d) if the Governor, acting in his or her discretion, directs that he or she shall be removed from office for inability to discharge the functions of his or her office (whether arising from infirmity of body or mind or any other cause) or for misbehaviour. (4) The Complaints Commissioner shall investigate complaints of maladministration in the government of the Islands in accordance with any Ordinance, and shall have such functions and jurisdiction as may be prescribed by or under any such Ordinance.
